Possibility of MORE Gilmore Girls To Come On Netflix

landscape-ustv-gilmore-girls-lauren-graham-alexis-bledel

Please say it will happen.  Pretty please with sugar on top or perhaps, 4 teaspoons of sugar in an extra strong coffee so that I can type faster.

No, this isn’t an old story.  This is new in March 2017.

Word has it that Netflix’s chief content officer, Ted Sarandos has had a preliminary talk about more upcoming Gilmore Girls episodes with writers and creators, Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino.  Notice the word “preliminary” is said.  It’s not carved in stone, nor is it evident whether the Palladinos have or will ever consider it.  Add to that, the fact that the main cast of GG is moving onto other projects and it may not be a go.  By gawd though, fans can only blow out birthday cake candles and make that wish as it’s out of our hands.  Well, at least we can voice our wishes on every mag or paper that writes about it.

When the series was cancelled in 2007 after the Palladinos had been left out of writing and producing the last season due to contract disputes, fans were left less than happy about the ending of the series in two ways.  First was the ending in and of itself but, most importantly, whomever took up the writing and producing of the final and seventh season, didn’t do the finale justice.

Nearly 9 years later, the original Palladino Duo, Amy and Dan, signed up with Netflix to do a 4 movie-length series named “A Year In The Life”.  Not only did it deliver more up-to-date content but it was as though time had moved along without us noticing those missing 9 years.  Though, I must say that there were times when I yawned at what appeared to be thrown in and wasted scenes such as the Stars Hollow Musical, Rory’s farewell escapade with Logan and the Life and Death Brigade which was almost akin to an LSD trip.  However there were other moments where a box of tissues to wipe eyes and noses were needed as tears streamed down faces with Lorelai and Emily’s fights and tensions, Lorelai and Luke’s love, tension and marriage and a few other occasions that were tear-jerking in a good way.

A lot of the old cast made its way back to the 4 episodes, even if only for what might be considered brief or cameo appearances.  It was novel to see them all again though some of them weren’t absolutely necessary for the series to continue and still aren’t.  It’s ok if some of the cast can’t commit to more.  One of them would be Melissa McCarthy who has become “too big a star” to have the time.  Jackson could go too as could Lane’s hubby and the band.  They were great reminiscing but, that’s about as much of a role as they needed to play and would need to play.  It’s possible to go on with the series without them now.

There was a lot left wide open for new story lines that could carry the show to go on.

  1. Emily’s life and what she’s going to do with it since moving to Nantucket.  Is it really where she will stay or is there more up her sleeve after a bit of a break from Hartford and the DAR?  There’s plenty more room for a bigger story for Emily to come, including whatever happens between her and her new beau/boyfriend.
  2. There’s Lorelai and Luke, their marriage, do they move, how do they incorporate being parents to both of their daughters as well as now….grandparents?
  3. Does Lorelai buy the old manor in the middle of Stars Hollow to expand her Inn and keep Michel with her?  How does she do it and what happens from there on in with her inn?  Who gets the chef’s spot or does Luke’s diner get all of the business?  Maybe, Luke runs both?
  4. Who is Rory’s baby-daddy?
  5. Does Rory smarten up and go on to grow up and be the mother to her child that Lorelai was to her?  What does Rory do with her life while raising a child?  Does she live with Lorelai and Luke and they help raise the baby?
  6. Does being grandparents and perhaps, raising Rory’s baby at least half of the time, make up for them not being able to have children of their own as a couple?

There’s a whole world left wide open to these characters yet to be written into scripts that could bring the show into the present time.  It’s already had the hallmarks of doing that in those 4 episodes that Netflix so bravely and wisely decided to bring out and together.

From my little corner of life, there’s not only plenty more room for more but, there’s also the fan base if they don’t wait too long to do it.  That’s key here.  Don’t wait too long.  Nine, almost 10 years was far too long for a revival.  Keep it warm while the fans are still hot and longing for more, Netflix, Amy Sherman-Palladino, Dan Palladino, Lauren Graham (Lorelai), Alexis Bleddel (Rory), Scott G. Patterson (Luke), Kelly Bishop (Emily Gilmore) and the rest of the cast that wants to join in, which will hopefully, be most of them but we know, not all of them.

Netflix has my vote.  What about yours?  Comment!  Let’s hope it brings this up to Netflix, the Palladinos and the cast’s attention.  We vote YES.

Happiness Part V: We Know Too Much

computers

Day in and day out, we are being bombarded with information.  Some of it will be correct and some of it will prove to be incorrect yet, we will absorb it all as though through osmosis.  Whether we are truly paying attention or we’re subliminally and subconsciously picking it up, we have most of that info, rumbling around in our brains somewhere and it’s acting upon us like a slow release pill, coming out in dribs and drabs. It’s likely that we don’t even recognize that info is there or that we’re utilizing it in one way or another.  Our brains are wonderous machines with a filing system that makes computers look like toys.  Reality is, we know far more than we need to know and it’s causing us both stress and distress.  It’s a road block to being happy.

Remember back a few entries ago when the scenario of children being happy was the centre point of that piece?  If not, you can review it here.  Part of the reason that children are generally happy is that they don’t know enough to be un-happy.  Not only have the brains of children not developed enough but, they don’t know enough to be upset, stressed, worried or any of the adult things that we, as adults, have come to learn to do.  They live in moment because they can’t really foresee much trouble in the future.  Ignorance is sometimes, bliss.

Let me give a scenario here that may help demonstrate that point better.

Two men are in a car, stuck on railway tracks.  They cannot move back nor forward.  The elder gentleman in the car has a form of dementia and is busily reminiscing about days gone by that he remembers with fondness.  The younger gentleman, fully able to compute the dangers of what is happening, is trying not to frighten the older man while trying to start the car again with no success.  Off in the distance, he sees the faint lights of an oncoming train and keeps trying to start the car, filled with panic now.  The elder man is completely unaware of what is happening and continues on his trip down memory lane with pure joy and delight, laughter and a smile while beads of sweat drip down the younger man’s forehead.  Finally, in vain, as the train approaches rapidly, the younger man exits the car, opens the door of the passenger’s side and drags the old man out of the car to safety.  The train soon demolishes the car into a tangled heap of metal before coming to a stop.  The young man tries to catch his breath while the elder gentleman simply says, “why did you stop me?  I wasn’t finished my story.”  Both men experienced the same situation.  The difference in their reactions were simply that the younger man knew what was going to happen while the elder man was blissfully unaware of the danger lurking down the tracks.

None of this is to say that we shouldn’t be aware of dangers or ignorant of facts nor, uneducated.  What it is saying is that we are overloaded with information that oftentimes, is false, misleading and most importantly, un-needed.  We can’t be child-like because we now know too much.  As a matter of fact, we know more than we really need to know and that, in and of itself, causes stress, distress and un-happiness.  We are now incapable of simply living in the moment and being amused with simple things like the taste of our coffee, the smell of freshly cut grass, the clouds that are floating past us above, the purr of our cat, the sound of a stream, a song that we love or many other of the most soothing and amusing things in Life.  Instead, we are analyzing everything silly, thinking about what lays ahead, how much damage it’s doing to us and the world, some study that proves that the caffeine in our wonderful tasting coffee can kill us or how the water in our bottle of water might pollute the earth or be polluted by the chemicals in the plastic bottle or wax that lines the paper take-out cup is toxic.  We’re usually reading or listening to the news which is filled with doom and gloom as that is what sells air/paper time and we’re using technology devices such as our cell phones to look up more crazy-making information.  The list is endless as to how information is slowly not only taking away our happiness and ability to be happy but, is potentially causing us stress that will or could kill us sooner or later.

How many shootings do we need to hear about before we can say, “there’s a lot of kids, killing others with guns”?  How many studies have we all heard, read or talked about that eventually get reversed or at the least, changed because newer studies have proven differently and yet, we’ve given up that great tasting coffee or bread or eggs and, it’s now not only ok to have them but, we find out we should have been having them all along as they’re beneficial to us?  How many car accidents do we need to see on the news at night with people we never met, don’t know and never will know before we get the idea that driving a car in today’s world and in traffic or driving distracted or impaired, can kill us? Do we really need 24/7 news stations that cover a story live and have “experts” on panel to discuss every nuance of the situation?

The bottom line is that we have far too much information floating around in our heads that not only don’t serve us beyond simply having a fact/knowledge but, are harming us in one way or another.  It’s all certainly a stumbling block towards being happy.

If you want to feel a bit happier,

  • Turn off the news or put down that newspaper
  • Quit Googling or Binging or whatever search engine you use for a bit
  • Turn off your cell phone or use it to actually CALL a friend or relative and enjoy talking to them instead of texting or ignoring them.
  • Stop taking every study too seriously because it will eventually turn out to be changed or reversed by another that will follow.
  • Either turn up your favourite music and sing or dance with it or, listen to the birds chirping, the stream sounds or your cat purring for a change
  • Watch a comedy or inspirational movie instead of a horror, police or crime show
  • Read a book or story with an inspirational message behind it
  • Buy yourself an adult colouring book and colour for a change.  Heck, get out the crayons and colour a child’s colouring book.
  • Ditch the “Know-It-Alls” who are walking encyclopedias but, are as negative as hell
  • Limit time with or eliminate those people who are bringing you nothing but headaches or demands for you doing something for them
  • Spend more time with people who make you feel good and most of all, make you laugh
  • Get silly. Roll down a hill, play with toys, splash around in a local pool just for the fun of being in water and weightless or buy yourself a teddy bear.  Seriously.
  • Stay out of your head and thinking for even an hour a day.  Just pay attention to things around you that are soothing and relaxing.  If you can’t find that, find them in your memory bank.  They’re there, believe it or not.
  • Be thankful for what you have right now even if it’s not your dream situation
  • Set aside a worry time of 20 minutes where you write your worries out into a dollar store notebook then shut the journal and tell yourself worry time is over until your next planned session then, get on with something light, silly and funny

These are just a few ideas.  There are plenty more.  If you’re going to Google anything, search for ways to have fun.

Stay light, stay laughing, stay away from people or information that brings you down to a stressed out level as much as possible.  Just be.  Be in the moment and enjoy the little things in Life.  Be happy!

Blessings, Love and Light from my little corner of life to yours.

Who Is Rory’s Baby Daddy On Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life?

It’s been since November 25th, 2016 that we’ve been handed 4 brand new episodes of Gilmore Girls thanks to Netflix being brave enough to have revived it from the ashes like the phoenix.  We are forever grateful to the Powers That Be at Netflix, Warner Bros., the cast of Gilmore Girls and, of course, writers and producers Amy Sherman-Pallidino and hubby, Dan Palladino.  However, enough is enough so, if you haven’t watched these 4 movie-length episodes and don’t know the final 4 words yet, you’re out of luck because even the title of this piece has spoiled it for you.  Now, we need to know who the father of Rory’s baby is, how Rory and Lorelai deal with this baby and so much more.  There’s millions of Gilmore Girls Fans out here, waiting for more Gilmore Girls to be born from ASP and DP’s brilliant minds and Netflix can be the god who makes that happen for us all.  Hint, hint, Netflix.

Netflix has posted what may be a teaser tweet recently that has the millions of Gilmore Girls fans leaping for joy that there could possibly be more Gilmore Girls to come.  Let’s all hope and pray to the television production gods that there are.

c0zjmxauuaeimow

Netflix tweeted this photo with a caption that read, “Where’s an eighth grade science fair when you need one? #GilmoreGirls”

Co-writer and producer, Dan Palladino stated in a recent interview that there were plenty of hints given as to who the father was though Rory seemed to want to go it alone after having visiting her father who wasn’t around for her own childhood much of the time.  She then reveals to her mother, final shot, final famous 4 words, “Mom”, “Yeah?” “I’m pregnant”, fade to black.

“I think a lot of clues are out there,” Dan Palladino said in an interview recently.  “I know with the time passage it wasn’t 100 percent clear, but we also didn’t have her engage with who she thought was the father. She felt like she was going ahead on this, deciding what to do and how to do it solo, that’s why we had her go to her father.”

So, who could the father be?

There were old boyfriends and a new boyfriend who showed up in the 4 episodes as well as a one night stand with a guy in a Wookie costume that we know of thus far.

Let’s look at Dean, (Jared Padalecki).  He was Rory’s first boyfriend in the show.  He showed up for an extremely quick, short scene, married and seemingly uninterested in Rory as anything more than an old friend from Stars Hollow.  Not much even hinted there.  Besides, Padalecki is quite busy starring in his own show, “Supernatural”.  It’s not likely to be him nor, was there any hint or room left for him to be Rory’s love interest, let alone baby daddy.

There was poor Paul, played by Jack Carpenter that no one could remember was ever there, including Rory.  She kept leaving him and having to go back for him.  Even Lorelai, Luke and Grandma Emily couldn’t remember ever having met him though Rory had allegedly been dating him for at least 2 years.  If Rory couldn’t remember him being there when he went to the bathroom, it’s likely that he wasn’t the father of her child.  It seems unlikely that she’d have unzipped her pants and remembered he was in the room, long enough for anything to happen between the 2 of them.  Let’s strike pathetic Paul out as simply the guy who filled a space.

Next candidate we have is Jess Mariano played by Milo Ventimiglia of “This Is Us” fame and now up for a Golden Globe Award for his part in that show.  That means that the show is likely to be going on for at least another season with NBC and Milo (Jess) will be locked into it.  His appearance on the revival 4 episodes was extremely limited and not too revealing as to there being anything between them that could have led to a romantic interlude where Rory would get caught up in a pregnancy.  I think it’s safe to rule Jess out as the sperm donor.

Last but, not least from Rory’s roster of old boyfriends, we have Logan, played by Matt Czuchry.  Logan was Rory’s longest and most deep love.  During the 4 episodes, Rory had been sneaking around to see and sleep with Logan while jet-setting it back and forth between Stars Hollow and London, England where Logan has taken residence to work for his father, in his father’s business and run it.  Uncharacteristically, Rory knows that Logan is engaged to be married to a wealthy woman, likely chosen by the Huntzberger family or his father yet, still sleeps with Logan whenever there, lying to her mother, Lorelai that she’s staying in England with a girl friend.  What is clear though is that while Czuchry was still embroiled in a role with “The Good Wife” at the time this was being filmed, the series is done and Czuchry is now out of work.  Does that mean that he’s Rory’s baby’s father?  It’s an interesting thought but, one has to wonder given that Rory and Logan had lived together during the original series and the plot line never had her pregnant, it’s likely that birth control was taken care of both then and now.  The only time that it could have happened, without warning would have been during Logan’s surprise but, final visit to see Rory in Stars Hollow where she bid him farewell, knowing that he was set to marry “Odette” and didn’t want to keep up the charade of a relationship any longer.  Though, it wouldn’t be Rory’s first indiscretion.  Rory lost her virginity to a married Dean and considered him, hers, not his wife’s.

There’s another possibility that was left in the show.  A one night stand with a “guy dressed in a Wookie costume” which was highly uncharacteristic of Rory to have done but, then again, not much that Rory did in these 4 episodes was characteristic of her character.  Even then, this Wookie character was nothing but a comedic rant for Rory to have given, unless it was Logan, dressed up as a Trekkie and meeting up with Rory as yet, another surprise visit from England?  Not likely but, Logan (Matt Czuchry) does know who the father is as Amy Sherman-Palladino left him with that knowledge.  He won’t reveal that news however, he does hint that there could be more episodes to come as it’s left a lot of unanswered questions and room for a future series to come.  Great timing since “The Good Wife” is ending for a spin-off series that he won’t be involved in apparently.

Finally, there was an outlandish guess by some fans that Rory was acting as a surrogate for Lorelai and Luke’s baby.  I, personally, will dismiss this idea because Luke was abhorred by the idea of anyone else having his child except for Lorelai.  The fact that Luke also considered Rory as his pseudo daughter, would make it far too creepy an idea.  I’m tossing that one out with my empty Diet Pepsi can as I type this right now.

In taking Dan Palladino’s hint that there are hints, though time may have lost them (meaning that they were held back in the original series which would require watching them all again in spite of many of us, having watched them more than 2 or 3 times each), we could let our imaginations run wild in figuring it out.  However, from my little corner of life, I think that there are millions of us out here who are chomping at the bit for there to be more Gilmore Girls and the series to re-start so that we can get more answers and start fresh again in 2017/2018 and beyond.

Netflix, Amy Sherman-Palladino and Dan Palladino…are you listening?  Our voices are screaming out for more Gilmore Girls.

Debbie Reynolds Dies One Day After The Death of Her Daughter, Carrie Fisher…

obit-fisher-7-jpg-size-custom-crop-1086x729

There’s no need to go through the list of credits for either the late actress/comedienne Carrie Fisher nor, for her mother, actress, Debbie Reynolds.  Their list of accomplishments within the entertainment world has and will be documented by many other sources.  What I wish to express is my deepest condolences to their family.

It was tragic to hear that Carrie Fisher had passed away at the age of 60 but, to hear that her mother, Debbie Reynolds, suffered a stroke while making funeral arrangements for her daughter and passed away only hours later and one day after her daughter’s passing, was both ironic as well as horribly sad news in such a rough year where many stars that we came to love and know, have also passed on both young and old.  There will be some hefty In Memoriams done during award ceremonies in early 2017 which may take up a good chunk of these shows.

While I was not truly a Carrie Fisher fan as much as I was a Debbie Reynold’s fan, I felt both of their losses and took them hard.  That’s not to say that I thought any less of the others in the entertainment business who have passed this year but, more because this appeared to be a mother-daughter bond that even death couldn’t break.

In spite of many tortured years between Fisher and Reynolds (Fisher taking blame for that estrangement by saying that she didn’t want to be Debbie Reynold’s daughter due to her famous mother’s stardom) they had found a way to patch up their differences and were finally able to be together, loving one another.

Sadly, Fisher had drug addictions over the years as well as mental health issues that were also part and party to her issues with her mom. Fisher had smoked weed from the age of 13 then, went on to Cocaine, LSD and possibly other drugs. It’s unclear as to how much she did at this time.  Years and even decades of their lives were ruined and wasted because of these issues.  Fisher, herself, admitted it openly in books she had written, stand-up comedy routines as well as interviews, including one done with Oprah Winfrey.

Reynolds had long ago openly stated that it was heart breaking to watch her daughter in such distress and not wanting her as part of Fisher’s life.  As graciously as she could, Reynolds stated that Fisher had pushed her away and there had been nothing she could do except to hurt.  It was sad for both of them as so much time in Life was wasted that could have been spent together.  The depths of mental health issues and drug addictions cannot be measured except in despair for all parties involved it seems.

What was certain was that Reynolds had been with son, Todd Fisher the morning of December 28, 2016, one day after her only daughter’s passing, distraught, overwhelmed and grieving to make funeral arrangements for Fisher when she was stricken with a stroke.  It was allegedly not the first one this year or last that Reynolds had experienced but, it was the one that would end her life only hours later.

Reynolds had stated to Todd that she just wanted to be with Carrie.  And, so it was.  Her passing only hours after her daughter, Carrie’s death, led her to what we all hope was a reunion of the mother-daughter duo.  Perhaps, there was a bond between mother and child that couldn’t be broken?  Whatever it was, son, Todd Fisher stated “she’s with Carrie”.

As family will now have to plan a double funeral for the pair now, it’s uncertain as to how it will take place or when but, suffice it to say that one can only hope that they are together and at peace, loving one another without condition right now.

From my little corner of life, as sad as it all is, I can see reason, justice, hope and a bond that couldn’t be broken by even death itself.  Prayers go out to their family left behind as they grieve both losses at once.  May they take comfort in the idea that perhaps, just perhaps, they are truly together right now.

Will Donald Trump Ruin America And Ties With The World As President?

trump

I am Canadian and even I can agree that there was no real great choice between Clinton and Trump for Americans in this election which also caused unprecedented numbers of independent votes.  Neither were ideal candidates by any means of the word.  Unfortunately, Americans seemed so disenchanted with Obama’s 8 year reign in power that they decided to duck Clinton and go against the Democrats.  It was hard to watch and even harder to swallow the outcome.

As a Canadian, we do have a stake in whomever gets in as president of the U.S.A.. Trump is easily coming across as huge Trouble for not only Canadians and Mexicans but, for the world.  Trouble should be spelled with a capital “T” because this man knows no boundaries.  His acceptance speech wreaked of insincerity and an “I’ll do what I want anyway” air even though the words spoken were sounding conciliatory.

Other countries around the globe are concerned as well. Even France’s president spoke of fear and that he and his country are hoping for the best but, fearing the worst.  They all smell danger in this man but, hope that they are wrong and can work with him…a potentially hard feat for such a hard-headed man who made his way to the top of the political ladder by sheer brute force and unabashed ignorant promises and policies.

There’s a lot to potentially be lost by the U.S. in having Trump as their president.  He will represent America to the rest of the world in all conceivable ways.  The most frightening could be in military terms.  We all know that he’s a “hot head” who says and does whatever his brain comes up with at that moment.  That’s not a comforting thought for the entire globe, let alone the country, itself.

Of course, there are his staunchest supporters who didn’t simply cast a rebel vote against the Obama Administration or the Democrats but, those who truly love and want Trump’s type of thinking and are willing to overlook his many ill-conceived ideals and ideas.  They are the ones who will pump their fists in the air to defend this multi-billionaire’s stances on just about everything, including women, Latinos, Blacks and having Mexico pay to build a wall across the border of the two countries.  They are the ones who will be raring to slam what I’m writing here.  That is understood and expected from such thinking styles.

There’s only 2 hopes now for The U.S. and the world.  Either Trump learns that being president of such a powerful country doesn’t give him carte blanche to do what he wants, whenever he wants, saying whatever he wants to say it and to whom or, he’s impeached.  There is a high bet that there could potentially end up being assassination attempts on Trump.  Let’s hope not because no one deserves that and no one would want to have another Kennedy situation on their hands however, he’s made and will continue to make enemies so, it’s a conceivable possibility.  He could be his own worst enemy in that arena, backed by his staunchest supporters.

Last night, Canada’s Immigration Site crashed as likely thousands of Americans started seeing the unbelievable reality that Trump was going to win this election and wanting out of the U.S..  It’s likely that cooler heads will prevail shortly and, it was simply a knee-jerk reaction to the unexpected news that Trump truly was in the lead and would likely win.  In coming days, people will go back to their lives…at least until the exchange of power has been handed over in January 2017 from Obama to Trump.  By then, most will have accepted the reality that Trump is their president and they will have to wait and see what he does first, next and thereafter in that role.  Bets are pouring in though that there will be major goof-ups that will affect not only the U.S. but, also the rest of the world. Meanwhile, Russian President, Vladimir Putin and caucus, popped the cork on a bottle of champagne yesterday to toast Trump’s win.  Is that saying something?

A lot of people around the globe couldn’t believe that Trump had made it as far as he did let alone that he would go on to become president.  Yet, he did.  It’s frightening and it’s sad that the world has to bite their fingernails and try to get a meeting with him before he does much damage.  At the least, they hope to garner an understanding with Trump as to where each country stands, what will be tolerated and what won’t.  It will likely be polite meetings right now but, as time goes on, lines and boundaries will be set by each country.  Trump is sure to make some enemies for both himself and America within a short period of time.

One thing is for certain.  As powerful a nation as the U.S. is, it is not an island.  It needs the rest of the world for its survival as a whole.  If Trump ticks off enough of the world, America won’t be “great” by any means.  It will be a living hell for not only Americans but, for the world as a whole.  Trump had better step into office on the right foot and continue to tow the line or he could put America in line for a lot of  heartache and trouble.  There won’t be an “I told you so” strong enough to back that train up once it starts.

Hillary made mention of “the ceiling” in her concession speech that could have one wondering if she has knowledge that she’s keeping close to her chest for the moment?

“Now I know we have still not shattered that highest and hardest glass ceiling,” Clinton said with determination in her eyes. “but someday someone will, and hopefully sooner than we might think right now.”

As people took to the streets of several major American cities in protest over Trump’s win for differing reasons with more protests planned, one can only hope that there’s light that will be shed on that possibly, mysterious message that Clinton gave out. One can put 2 and 2 together to come up with 5 or, one can assume that there’s something there that’s being held for now.  I’m not sure which way it was meant but, time will tell.

From my little corner of life, we have a long road of wait and see ahead with Trump at the helm and my bet is that there’s Trouble brewing and will show up within weeks of him getting into the Whitehouse.  It’s sad and wishing all of my American friends well…along with the rest of the globe.  This is going to be one bumpy ride so, hang onto your hats.

ALL Lives Matter Not Just Black Lives!

The past few days, Toronto, Canada and the world, have had to sit back and watch the antics of a tiny, almost negligible group of self-titled “Queer” Black Activist women, stop a Gay Pride Parade with a sit-in and hold everyone hostage until their “demands” were met by parade organizers, signing their letter in order to get the parade moving.  Their chief gripe was “Black Inclusion” and police “exclusion” from the parade.

I refuse to put up a photo of them here as it only gives that group more attention, which is what they are wanting more than anything else.

It’s hard to even type out the name of this tiny group, started by 2 women who call themselves “activists” but, media keeps giving them attention everywhere they go and therefore, Black Lives Matter-TO, will keep on staging sit-ins and protests with one main theme…Blacks are treated unfairly by police.

Keep in mind that we’re talking about Canada here.  We’re a far-cry from other countries in policing or treatment of the Black Communities.  Are we perfect? No, but this country certainly isn’t “bad” by any means of the word.

This group chose the name of a member of the Black Community who was killed by police over a year ago on which to form a platform.  It was un-justified given that the majority of deaths of members of the Black Community, are killed in cold-blooded murders by other members of the Black Community.  Apparently, Blacks, killing other Blacks with guns and knives in bold, aimed and directed murders by the dozens is “ok” but, let a White police officer kill a member of the Black Community (justified or not) and all hell breaks loose.  Protests, rants, cries of long-gone slavery and mistreatment, again rear their ugly heads as guilt inducers to the White Community.

What’s sad is that White Canadians appear to be the staunchest defenders.  During a 3 day-long Twitterfest’s worth of rants, the most hardened of Tweeters backing this small group’s highjacking of one of the world’s largest Gay Pride Parades for 30 minutes, were Whites who seemed to be saying that they were feeling some form of guilt for being White.

Sadly, while the Black Lives Matter-TO group claimed “victory” in holding up a parade with demands that had little, if anything to do with Gay Pride, what they didn’t see was that they actually did more harm to their cause than they did good.

There are members of the Gay Community on Toronto’s Police Force and to hear that they were no longer welcomed at the parade, no police float and Pride Organizers signed the demand list, prompted police to be upset, angered and have one Homosexual officer write a letter with his feelings towards this topic.  His letter can be read HERE.  In this case, the only things worse than being a White police officer is being a Gay/Black police officer.  Toronto has a Black Police Chief by the way.  Mark Saunders.

What blows this all out of proportion for me is that these activists are promoting “anti-white” thinking.  All of their “Black Rights” propaganda is working against the idea unity of the world with no colours, only people.  They are isolating Black from White or any other colours.  They are pro-Black and seem to be saying “nobody else matters”.  They’ve gone so far as to say that they “own” the phrase “Black Lives Matter” and any take-off on it such as “All Lives Matter” are taken from them.  There isn’t a patent on the phrase with their name on it anywhere but, let them think what they want.  They will anyway.

If members of the Black Communities think that they’re getting a rotten deal, they obviously don’t care about anyone else’s struggles in this world.  One need only look as far as Honour Killings to find horrid atrocities.  Articles like THIS ONE simply make one shake their heads in disbelief that what this particular minuscule group of women are complaining about, is laughable by comparison.  Where is their outrage over situations like this where women are being murdered by their own parents, brothers and family because they married outside of an arranged marriage by their families?  Any gripes that BLM-TO has, pales by comparison to this type of practise and makes their demands and protests all seem laughable.

If the Black Community in Toronto want to be treated differently, they need to stand up to their own children and communities by taking a good, hard and long look at what their own youth are doing rather than blaming police for doing a job that they, themselves wouldn’t want to do.  They need to pinch themselves and remind themselves that if Black youths weren’t out gunning one another down, taking innocent by-standers with them, there wouldn’t need to be police intervention.  If the majority of gang-related troubles weren’t heavily practised by Black youth, police wouldn’t be down their backs or anywhere around them.  The reality is, it’s easier to blame others than to sort out their own dirty laundry first.

Like it or not, this is what I’ve been seeing from my little corner of life and I’m being reminded of it daily as criminal events in my own neighbourhood and the loss of a friend of mine as an innocent by-stander in a running gun fight between members of the Black Community (as they call it) over a “dis” have been in my face with eyes wide open in my own life.

Why Is EgyptAir 804 A Possible Terrorist Act But Not MH370?

egyptair

EgyptAir Flight 804, an airbus with 60 people aboard, headed from Paris to Cairo, loses all contact with radars and goes down from a cruising altitude of 37,000 ft.  It’s immediately suspected of being a terrorist attack with the feeling growing stronger as the hours and minutes go by.  Yet, Malaysian Flight MH370 which still has yet to be found, with much more mysterious circumstances surrounding its disappearance and is not considered a terrorist act at this point.  One has to question why.

Was it considered a potential terrorist act because EgyptAir originated this flight from Paris, France where there are known terrorist affiliates still working at the airport?  Is France looked upon as a “hub” for terrorists?  What is it that makes this airline’s sudden and catastrophic disappearance any different than MH370’s strange behaviour and resulting disappearance with only a few pieces found some 2 years later, thought to be “most certainly” that of MH370?

In the days that are to come, I’m sure we’ll get more answers to these questions but, the questions are still there.

EgyptAir Flight 804 had taken off from Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris, France at 11:09 p.m., heading for Cairo, Egypt with 56 passengers, 7 aircrew and 3 security personnel that included at least 1 infant.  It’s reported that according to Greek military radar data, “Flight 804 veered off course shortly after entering the Egyptian Flight Information Region (FIR). At an altitude of 11,000 metres (37,000 feet), the aircraft made a 90-degree left turn, followed by a full circle right turn and then began to descend. Radar contact was lost at an altitude of about 3,000 m (10,000 ft).”  At 2:30 a.m. it’s said that the aircraft was lost on radar.  That was some  3 hours 25 minutes into the flight that should have ended approximately a half hour or so later but, had not begun its descent yet and should therefore, have been “safe”.  It was due to land in Cairo at approx. 3:05 a.m. but, when it disappeared 280 km (170 mi; 150 nmi) north of the Egyptian coast.  The plane was said to be swerving 90 degrees to the left and then spinning 360 degrees while the plane dropped from 37,000 feet to 15,000, Panos Kammenos, the Greek Defense Minister, made note.  All contact and radar detection was lost at that point in time.

Unlike MH370 wreckage from 804 has been found near the Greek island of Karpathos and has now been changed from a “Search and Rescue” to a “Search and Recovery” mission.  Egyptian, Russian and U.S. authorities have stated that they believe that this was a terrorist attack, likely involving a bomb.  Yet, no claims have been made by any terrorist group thus far.

Why is it then, that with all of MH370’s mysteries, that it wasn’t considered an act of terrorism?  Lack of debris?

From my little corner of life, it seems that MH370 was likely also a terrorist related disappearance and murder as EgyptAir Flight 804 but, we’ll not hear those words uttered.  For what reason?  Why won’t they say that much about MH370 with all that’s known and not known?  Something is still fishy for MH370 and now, EA 804.
